Grizzly Bear CountryFilm Poster Design
Film poster design for writer/director Mave Ky’s short film “Grizzly Bear Country”.

A combination of both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop work, the film poster is indicative of subject outlining and texture work. As none of the subjects in the photo are technically in the original photo together, and are placed into the environment separately, the design also focuses on connecting the vintage aesthetic of the film to the poster, using textures and paper rips. The grid system is outlined for the design, placing text and imagery in correspondence with each other. Working the producer of the film, I provided options for text treatment and poster ideation/direction. The ask was to deliver the essence of the film to a poster design, with a focus on reader accessibility.

OrchardGraphic Design // Creative Direction // Video // Editing

A project entailing both graphic design and music video direction for music artist K The Chosen.

Using Adobe Illustrator to add texture through film grain, the design takes a photo taken on an iPhone and professionally digitizes the design to represent K the Chosen’s song about representing love through flowers. High contrast is used to highlight focus on the flowers themselves, and was the final result of 3 outlined ideations and 2 revisions based on the choices made. The artist and I found meaning in the symbolization of flowers, and he wanted me to outline their importance within the song while still adding depth and texture to the photo chosen. Type plays with the flowers by placing them behind the flowers while still being legible.

I also creatived directed, directed, and edited a music video for the project, building off of the original artwork provided.

Second SlideFilm Poster Design
A film poster designed for filmmaker Jack Parker. The project entails posters that pull imagery from the film itself, using typography design as the driving factor for the final output. The designs provide variance in typography placement, using movement, colour and impact in order to deliver the film’s theme of nature and its beautiful yet unforgiving environment.

cancer sznFilm Poster Design + Typography Design
A film poster and title design commissioned for filmmaker Zach Green, the design ask was to create a series of posters for his short film “cancer szn”, along with a unique title design to place within the film itself. Made primarily in Adobe Illustrator, the main focus of this project was typography and layout design. Depth is rooted in consistency of type with a simple set of revisions regarding the choice of stills used for each poster.

Minus TwentyFilm Poster Design
Film posters commissioned for the production house Sunhouse. The short film entails a person working in a warehouse, in cold conditions. The ask for the poster was to take a particular still from the film, and enhance the still into a usable poster. This entailed extending the hallway, and embedding typography into the floor of the hallway. Balance is achieved through the use of top and bottom elements within the design’s composition, placing the subject on the top of the design, and the type on the bottom. Feedback consisted of the choice of several design ideations, and the refinement of typography through effects and transparency, as well as font choice.

Frito PieGraphic Design // Creative Direction // Video // Editing
Song cover and music video direction for music artist The Fool.

Solely focused on Adobe Photoshop, the song cover art design is rooted in pulling from the music video of the song (that I also created). Blending typography design and composition together, the project demonstrates design skill through contrast of colour to outline the title of the song and its lyrics. The design process consisted of outlined ideations, with the client choosing a direction and then building on framing/composition and using type to build on the negative space. I stayed open to feedback in terms of choosing the right frame to compose, and delivered on the ask of connecting the theme of the song to the cover art itself.

I also creative directed, directed, shot and edited a music video for the song, based on the initial concepts established in the song cover.

Dawn FMFilm Poster Design // Concept
Rooted in using Adobe Illustrator, the design project placed a deep focus on turning the album “Dawn FM” by music artist “The Weeknd”, into a feature film concept. Being a personal project, the design uses Adobe Illustrator to pull assets from Dawn FM music videos, encapsulating the themes of the album’s essence and packaging it into a film poster design. The design process consisted of research in horror film posters, using elements such as subject composition and serif typography to shine brightly against a dark, moody backdrop.

Eternal SunshineMusic Cover Design // Concept
Diving deep into the realms of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, merging their capabilities to create a rich tapestry of effects and textures, my Ariana Grande concept cover of her album “Eternal Sunshine” is an ode to the message and world of the album itself. The fusion of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator allowed me to craft a design that not only pushed the boundaries of visual expression but also resonated with the themes embedded within the album itself.
